6. Nepal Telecom refuses to accept Asian Development Bank's subsidy to construct broadband infrastructure. Nepal Telecom says it doesn't need any subsidy to do it.

7. Some yet to be published interesting results from National Living Standard Survey of 2010

*Between 2003/04 and 2009/10, absolute poverty has decreased by 18 percentage points.
*In 2010, population living in absolute poverty is 13 percent.

*Based on current market prices, anyone living below Rs 14,430 per annum income is considered poor (the national definition).
*Kathmandu Valley has the least poverty with only 5 percent of population living under poverty line.
*Taplejung, Khotang and Sankhuwasabha have the highest incidence with 23 percent of population living below the poverty line.

*Gini coefficient in 2010 is 0.35 compared to 0.41 in 2003/04 NLSS.

*Surprising: income inequality between rich and poor has decreased.
*Per capita income of poorest 20 percent of population has increased from Rs 4,003 in 2003/04 to Rs 15,888 in 2009/10. That is a 400 percent increase.
*Per capita income of richest 20 percent of population has increased from Rs 40,486 in 2003/04 to Rs 94,419 in 2009/10. That is a 200 percent increase.

*In 2003/04, 31.9 percent of households received remittance.
*In 2009/10, 55.8 percent of households receive remittance.
*Per capita remittance income in 2003/04 was Rs 2,100
*Per capita remittance income in 2009/10 was Rs 11,073
